Yater was born at Holton, Ind on July 12, 1860. Died at noon April 18, 1918 at Toledo, Ohio, aged 57 years, 9 months and 6 days. He leaves a widow Mary E., of Toledo, four daughters Mable, Marguerite, Mrs. F. W. Matz (sic Waltz), of Toledo, Mrs. Frederick Berger, of Geneva, Neb., and son Chester, also three brothers and one sister, Cornet H. of Stewart, Nevada, Dallas H., of Toledo, O., Davidson C. of Holton and Nellie A., of Toledo. Mr. Yater was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church, of Toledo, O., a charter member of Yondota F.A.M. and a charter member of Yondota, K. of P. He has been employed by the U.S. Government for the past 31 years in the capacity of Mail Clerk. Making the run from Toledo to St. Louis. A short service was held from his late residence on Thursday evening at 7:30 conduted by the Masonic Lodge of that city.
