Indianapolis News, March 12. A. J. Hardy, an old soldier from the Lafayette Soldiers’ Home, who was in the city on a furlough, last night was struck by a street car at Indiana avenue and Ohio street, and seriously injured. He was taken to the City Hospital, where he remained in an unconscious condition all night. Hardy started across the street and walked in the rear of a North western avenue car with out seeing an Indiana avenue car on the adjoining track. He stepped in front of the Indiana avenue car and was struck and thrown to the side of the tracks. A gash was cut in his scalp, and it is believed that he is suffering either from a slight fracture or a severe concussion.
