The Chronicle, Scottsburg, Scott Co, Indiana published Thursday 18 Aug 1904
James Hougland died Sunday at his home three miles easat of Lexington. Aged 
about 70 years. His remains were interred at the Lexington cemetery Monday. He 
was a veteran of the civil war having served four years as a private in 
Company H, 22nd Indiana Regiment.
