She was the widow of Asbury Thompson, former county recorder and trustee of Vienna Township. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Jackson county, the daughter of a pioneer physician, Dr. Rodman. She and her husband moved to Blocher, where they lived for many years, moving to Scottsbug in 1887. She was a devoted wife, mother and Methodist and loved by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons Rev. Virgil Thompson, of Decatur, ILL., and Bert Thompson, of Chicago. Another son, Ralph, died several years ago. The funeral was held at the M.E. Church Monday afternoon with burial at the Scottsburg Cemetery.
