Steuben County Indiana , obit. Calhoun Co. Michigan Obituary from Newspaper (Title unknown) Louisa T. Tillotson (picture of her also) Daughter of Lemuel and Temperance Tillotson was born in Vernon, Oneida county, N.Y., May 24, 1815.Her death occurred in Homer, Michigan, May 18, 1904, aged 88 years, 11 months and 25 days. At the age of 17, she was married to Harvey F. Merrill, who died in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1854. She came to Michigan in 1856 and resided in Camden about seven years, when she moved to Orland, indiana, which was her home for about 33 years. Here she was united in marriage to Mr. Lundstrum who died in 1880, after which she became Mrs. John Sloan who has been dead for several years. She went to Homer, Michigan in 1896, where she has since found a good home with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Koons. Mrs. S. was the mother of three children, two sons and one daughter. The oldest son William died eight years ago and the younger Ira D. two years later. Nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren survive her. She experience religion when about 13 years old and lived an unusually consistent Christian life until the time of her death. She was a member of the Congregational church in Orland where the older members of the church today especially cherish her name as one of the faithful. Her very presence was a source of inspiration to pastor and people. She died in the same faith that she had lived. She had been blind for several years, but now she has gone to be with loved ones where her sight is again restored. The Heavenly Land was to her a reality. Her last good-bye to her daughter who sat by her side clasping her hand will be fresh in memory until mother and daughter shall meet in Heaven. Rev. Mr. Browning of the M. E. church conducted the funeral service.
