South Bend Tribune 9 Oct 1919
George A. Hafner, 44 years old, died at Detroit, Mich., where he resided 
Wednesday.  He had been ill of appendicities.  Surviving him are his mother, 
Mrs. Rose Hafner, of this city, two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Johnson, of South 
Bend; and Mrs. Russell Wilcox of New Carlisle, Ind.; a brother, William A. 
Hafner, and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Barnes, Mrs. Joseph Schumacher and Miss 
Anna Hafner, all of this city. Mr. Hafner was born in South Bend, March 18, 
1875, and moved to Detroit, seven years ago.  The body is expected here early 
this evening and will be taken to the home of Mrs. Hafner, 1224 West Jefferson 
boulevard.
