South Bend Tribune, 1 Apr 1930 - Elmer E. Hawkins, age 68, life-long resident 
of Wakarusa, Ind., died in St. Joseph's hospital at 5:10 o'clock Monday 
evening after one week's illness of pneumonia.  He was born Sept. 8, 1862, in 
Madison township, Indiana, and married Miss Margaret Selner in 1891.  
Surviving are the widow and five children; Elmer E., Jr., of Chicago Russell 
of this city; Mrs. Mollie Goff, Mrs. Virgil Michels and Walter Hawkins of 
Wakarusa.  Fifteen grandchildren also survive.  The body may be viewed in the 
Sprague chapel until removal to Wakarusa, Ind.
