Chauncy H. Stevens, for the past 18 years a resident of this city, died at his
home, 1022 Michigan avenue, late yesterday afternoon after an illness of one
week with pneumonia, aged 75 years, 8 months and 10 days. Mr. Stevens was born
in Ohio May 23, 1833 and was a gardner [sic] by occupation.  Besides his wife,
he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Rither, Mrs. George Berger, and Mrs. Ada
Buckels, all of this city.  The funeral will be held from the family residence
Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be private.  The remains will be laid
to rest in the Riverview cemetery.
