A man and an eight year old boy lay unconscious in Epworth HOspital with fractured skulls today and a 70 year old woman is in St Joseph hospital with painful injuries as the result of automobile accidents in and near South Bend Tuesday night. Clem Warner, age 38, who lives on rural route 7, south of the city, and Harry Rowe, age eight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rowe, 1729 South Caroline street, who were struck by automobiles, may die, attendants at Epworth hospital said.....Truck Hits Planter - Warner, who was driving a corn planter north on state highway 31 about 4:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a truck driven by Dewey Rose, of 118 East Fox street, has a fighting chance for life, hospital attaches said today. According to Rowe, he was driving a bakery truck north on the highway and turned out to pass Warner. As he drew alongside the planter Warner's horses shied and threw the cumbersome corn planter in front of the truck. Warner was thrown from his high seat on the planter under the wheels of the truck. Rowe went to a nearby farmhouse to summon the police ambulance and when he returned to the highway learned that a passing motorist had taken the injured man to the hospital. Police met the car on the outskirts of the city and escorted it to the hospital.
