All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/in/infiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly T beverlyjo@aol.com December 16, 2010, 1:00 pm South Bend Tribune 6 Jun 1929 CORONER OPENS INVESTIGATION IN CRASH DEATH - Injuries Received When Car Hit Planter Kill Farmer - Clem William Warner, age 38, rural route number 7, south of the city, died at 2:15 o'clock in Epworth hospital Wednesday afternoon of injuries received when he was struck by an automobile Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock on U.S. highway 31. Mr. Warner was driving a corn planter north on the highway when struck by a truck driven by Dewey Rowe, 118 East Fox street. He died without regaining consciousness. Coroner C. B. Crumpacker is investigating the accident and seeking witnesses for questioning. Mr. Warner was born in Penn township, May 18, 1891, and had lived in this county all his life. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Warner; his widow, MRs. Dora Warner; three children, William Franklin, James Richard and Mary Jane Warner, all at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Cunlian, of Union township and Mrs. Chester Long, of SOuth Bend. Funeral services will be held in the residence at 3 o'clock daylight saving time, Friday afternoon with Rev. T. J. Hammes, of St Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Southlawn cemetery.
