Subject was reared on a farm, but in 1876 began teaching school, which he continued until 1830, when he went into the hardware business with his brother at Shelburn, where he continued until 1882, when he moved to Sullivan, his brother having died. He was elected to the office of Recorder of Sullivan County in 1882, by a large majority, and has filled the office with entire satisfaction to both parties. Mr. Beasley is looked upon as one of the most prominent of the rising young men of Sullivan, and has always been very successful in his undertakings.
