(1899) CAMPBELL, HOWARD B., resides on the farm he owns in section 9 of Hamilton township. He came to Sullivan County in 1872 when a child, with his parents, Thomas M. and Jane (Spence) Campbell. They settled on a farm in this township and improved it from year to year until it is now one of the most valuable in the county. The elder Campbell died Feb. 26, 1884, his widow surviving him. They were the parents of six children, as follows: Albert, Calvin, Howard B., Mary Emma, Sarah Belle and Vina Campbell. Howard B. was raised on the home farm; he married Flora A. McDonald in 1891. They have one child, Harold D. Campbell. The wife is an active member of the Christian church. Mr. Campbell takes particular pride in being a farmer and confines his whole attention to the cultivation of his land. Additional Comments: Hamilton Twp.
