  PITTMAN, H. B., farmer, was born in Sullivan County October 6, 1831. His
father, Allen Pittman, came to the county from Kentucky in 1828. Mr. Pittman is
a large land owner and numbers among the most successful farmers of the county.
In politics he is a staunch democrat. From 1888 to 1894 he served as county
commissioner.
