BATTLE GROUND.

A village on the Louisville, New Albany & Chicago Railroad, in Tippecanoe
county, seven miles from Lafayette. It is a nourishing little city, near the
battle ground where General Harrison fought the Indians in 1811, from which it
receives its name. It has an excellent school, two churches, etc. Population
about 800.
