Tippecanoe County Indiana DEATHS Knefel Lyman GOBEN, 67, of Otterbein R. 2, and his younger brother, Lawrence Jarrett GOBEN, 62, of Lafayette R.2, died within 30 minutes of each other at Home Hospital February 21. Knefel GOBEN had been to the hospital in the afternoon to visit his brother, Lawrence, who had been a patient there since Jan. 7. The older brother returned to his home, suffered a stroke and was taken to the hospital where he died. His brother had died 30 minutes earlier. Lawrence GOBEN had been in failing health the past 12 years. He was born in Fowler and married Ruby BOWMAN in 1943 in Indianapolis. He was a former mechanic and welder. He is survived by his widow and one son, Larry GOBEN of Mooresville. Knefel GOBEN was also born in Fowler, and was a farmer. He had driven a school bus 14 years. He married Marie LACY in 1962 in Brookston. They had lived at the Otterbein R. 2 address since November, and had previously lived at Lafayette R. 11. He is survived by the widow, a son, Melvin L. GOBEN of Lafayette ; a daughter, Mrs. William CLEMENTS of Crawfordsville, and a stepdaughter, Miss Mary Alice McKINNEY of Otterbein. Both are survived by a brother, Vern of Battle Ground R. 1; and three sisters, Mrs. William OLDFIELD and Miss Eloda GOBEN, both of Lafayette, and Mrs. Raymond HARPER of Oxford. Services were held February 24 at THOMPSON and HARTZLER funeral home, Brookston. Rev. Bruce GEARHART officiated and interment was in Fowlder Cemetery. GOBEN, Lawrence Jarrett - Friends may call at THOMPSON & HARTZLER Funeral Home, Brookston, from 2 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services there of at 2.p.m. Monday, the Rev. Bruce GERHART officiating.
