BUNCH, Clerk of Tipton County, is a native of Wayne County, Ind., where he was born November 16, 1840. When he was eleven years of age, his father removed to Tipton County, and settled in Jefferson Township. Here Mr. Bunch grew to manhood on his father's farm, enjoying the limited advantages afforded by the public schools of that day. He engaged in farming for awhile, and also followed carpentering. In 1871, he removed to Tipton, and accepted the position of Deputy Clerk, which he held for over seven years. In 1878, he entered the Auditor's office as Deputy, and discharged the duties of that position for four years, at the end of which time he was elected by the Democracy of the county to the office of Circuit Clerk, which position he now holds. Mr. Bunch was married in Tipton County, February 3, 1859, to Miss Margaret A. Overman. They have a family of seven children-Olive E., wife of J. M. Fippen; Jerry O.; Saretta J., wife of J. W. Metlin; Silvester L., Mollie, Nathan and Hubert. Mr. Bunch is a Democrat; also a member of the I. O. O. F., and himself and wife belong to the Christian Church.
