McLUCAS, son of John and Melinda McLucas, was born in Wayne County, Ind., December 2, 1821. He grew to manhood in his native county, and obtained his education from its common schools. In 1851, he removed to Tipton County and located on a tract of land containing ninety-six acres in Section 5, Cicero Township, all of which was timber. He now owns 161 acres in the same section, 100 acres of which are well drained, both by tile and open ditches, and are in a fine state of cultivation. Mr. McLucas was married in 1847 to Miss Amanda Miller, of Wayne County, Ind. They have three children living, viz.: Melinda, William M. and Martha. Politically, he is a member of the Democratic party, and he and his wife are both members of the Christian or Disciples' Church.
