OVERMAN was born in Wayne County, Ind., November 2, 1850, and is the son of Obadiah Overman. When he was but a child, his parents removed to this county and located on land in Wild Cat Township; here Mr. Overman spent his youth and received a limited education. He began life for himself at the age of eighteen, and has always followed agricultural pursuits and stock-raising. He located on his present farm of eighty-nine acres in 1870, finding but two acres cleared, and now has about fifty acres of tillable land. He was married, August 14, 1867, to Miss Barbara A. Miller, of Howard County; she was born February 25, 1847. By this marriage they have four children -William E., Charity L., Rhodema A. and Eva E. Mr. Overman and wife are members of the Society of Friends. Mr. Overman casts his ballot with the Republican party, and has held some of the minor ofiices of the township; he is a public-spirited man, and encourages all home enterprises.
