Y., and was born September 27, 1817. He was reared in Jennings County, Ind., where he remained until 1850; he then came to Tipton County and purchased eighty acres of land, to which he has added forty acres; his farm is well drained and has eighty acres under cultivation. Mr. Pennock has been four times married; first, to Sarah Badgley, by which union there are four children living-Sarah F., Anthony E., John T. and America. His second marriage was to Rhoda Richards, who left one child-Samuel A. He was married the third time to Barbara Bennett, who left three children-Julia A., Catherine J. and Mary C. He was last married to Miss Catherine Hinkle November 15, 1873. Mr. Pennock, in 1847, enlisted in the Mexican war, in Company D, Third Indiana Regiment, and served one year. He participated in several battles, among them the battle of Buena Vista. Mr. Pennock is a prominent citizen, and politically is identified with the Democratic party.
