He was reared in his native county and there engaged in blacksmithing. In 1865, he removed to Hamilton County, Ind., where he followed farming and blacksmithing. He purchased thirty acres of land in that county, and remained there until 1877, when he traded this farm for eighty acres of land in Cicero Township, Tipton County; he located on this, and has added to it until now he has a farm of 120 acres, well drained, of fertile soil, and with seventy-five acres under cultivation. Mr. Wiggins was married in Lancaster County, Penn., January 23, 1862, to Miss Mary Nagle.
