C. Jones, does a business of $15,000 annually. He was born on the 19th day of January, 1849, in Howard County, Ind., where he grew to manhood. He was educated in the common school, and taught one term of a district school. He afterward dealt in stock a short time, followed clerking about five years, and spent two years in the grain trade. In 1878, he entered upon his present calling, and in 1881 located in Tipton. He was married, in Montgomery County, September 24, 1874, to Miss Fannie Wheeler, the issue of which marriage consists of three children, of whom two are living-Jessie and Fred-and one is dead-Mabel. His mother is still living at the old home in Howard County; his father, Eleven T. Young, died February 5, 1854. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Alto, in Howard County. Mr. Young is a member of Fritz's Cornet Band, in which he plays the first alto horn. He is also a member of the I. O. O. F.
