The Franklin Democrat, Friday, August 13, 1897, Volume XXXVIII, Number 5, page 1, column 1
The remains of Mrs. Hattie Compton, wife of Len Compton, who died at Tipton Monday,
were brought to 
Edinburg Tuesday evening.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, conducted by Rev.
J. Wesley Turner, now 
of Evansville.  Deceased was a former resident of Edinburg.
