Elkins, 72, of Montezuma, died at 6:10 p.m. Feb. 10, 2003, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Born June 26, 1930, in Danville, Ill., she was the daughter of Vernie Tell Clore and Dorothy Mae Douglass Clore. She retired in 1988 from housekeeping at Vermillion County Hospital after 10 years of service. She was a member of Nyseville Full Gospel Church and AARP. She married Joseph Ray Elkins on Dec. 13, 1947, in Rockville, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a grandchild. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and George Juhl of Clinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Virginia Elkins of Indianapolis, and Michael and Bonnie Elkins of Montezuma; two sisters, Mary Ratliff of Utah and Joan Adams of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at 12 noon Friday at Barnes Mortuary in Rockville with Pastor Gene Walls officiating. Visitation is Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
