Hurst was born in Fayette County, Ind., in 1849, a son of M. and Sarah (Willetts) Hurst. When he was ten years of age his parents moved to Wayne County and settled on the farm where he now resides. His boyhood was spent on the farm, and he received a good education. Jan. 18, 1872, he was married to Sarah A., daughter of Isham and Elizabeth Ann Waymire, of Wayne County. After his marriage he located on the old home place where he still resides. He owns 325 acres of well-improved land, and is one of the best farmers of the township and a very highly respected and influential citizen. To Mr. and Mrs. Hurst have been born three children---Icy May, Cora B. and Charles E. Mrs. Hurst is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
