Jackson, the seventh son of Joseph W. and Mary Jackson, was born in Centre Township, Wayne Co., Ind., April 3, 1857. He received a good common- school education. He was reared on a farm, and on arriving at maturity engaged in that vocation for himself. He now owns 173 acres of the best land in Centre Township, situated on Nolan’s Creek. He is also a successful stock-raiser, making a specialty of short-horn cattle. When twenty-four years of age he was married to Melissa C. Sealock, daughter of James and Hannah Sealock. She was born in Wayne County, Ind., May 12, 1862. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson have one son--- Garfield.
