He is a representative of one of the oldest and most influential as well as wealthy families of the county. He was educated in the common schools, remaining on the farm till after attaining his majority. On leaving the farm he was appointed Assistant Cashier, under his father, of the First National Bank, and retained the position till the death of his father, when he succeeded him as Cashier. He was married in 1878 to Addie, daughter of Henry and Caroline Stigleman. They have one son---Percy O. Mr. Jones is a plain, unassuming man, and has never aspired to political honors, although at present he is Treasurer of the City Board of Centreville.
