William D. Jordon, farmer and stock-raiser, section 24, Dalton, Township, was 
born in Dalton Township, Wayne Co., Ind., Jan. 1, 1847, a son of John W. and 
Catherine (Davidson) Jordon. He was reared on a farm and educated at the 
common schools, after which he engaged in teaching in the winter and farmed 
during the summer seasons till he was twenty-five years old. He was married 
Oct. 10, 1872, to Lizzie, daughter of Wilton and Rachel (Thornburg) Dennis, of 
Dalton Township. After his marriage he settled on the old homestead, where he 
has 167 acres of highly cultivated land. Mr. and Mrs. Jordon are active 
members of the Methodist Episcopal church. They are the parents of two 
children---Nellie F. and Frank W.
