P. 555: Abstract:

Dr. Abner H. NEWTON, a dentist in Richmond, b in East Windsor, CT 27 June 1812,
son of Abner Nelson and Zeviah [SKINNER] NEWTON, lived on farm in Hebron, CT
until 17, entered Brown University. Joined his parents in Cincinnati in 1837 and
attended dentistry school. Came to Richmond Ind in 1842, opened first dental
office in the city. Retired in 1892 at age 80. Married Margaret J. HOPE in
1843-- four children: Eugene M. (Civil war vet, d. March 1898); Ida Z. widow of
Joseph G. LEMON; Lilla A., living in Chicago; and Albia E, died young.  He was a
member of the M. E. Church.
