His parents were natives of Chester County, and came to Ohio in 1831. His father owned a 1,500 acre farm and built extensive flouring mills. He went east to Gwynnett Boarding School when he was fourteen years of age, and remained until he finished his education. He then came home and went into the milling business with his father. After his father's death he bought a farm near Bellefontaine, and also built and operated a steam flouring mill in the town of Bellefontaine. He came to Cambridge City, Ind., in 1879, and operated the mill he now owns, situated on Martindale's Creek. Mr. Pim is a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows' fraternities, and belongs to Lodge No. 32, of Dublin, and Olive Branch Lodge, No. 39.
