Shoff, proprietor of livery and sale stable, was born March 20, 1840, a son of Rudolph Shoff, who is one of the leading farmers of Jackson, Wayne Co., Ind. Our subject was reared on a farm. In 1870 he came to Centreville, Wayne County, and opened his present livery and sale stable, where he has done a fair business. He was married in 1869 to Mary Smith, daughter of Samuel and Anna Smith, of this county. She was born in Lancaster County, Pa. They have three daughters---Ada, Nellie and Christie.
