Shults, was born May 31, 1845, in Hamilton County, Ohio, only son of George W. and Elizabeth K. Shults, natives of Ohio. The former died in July, 1881, in his seventy-second year, and the latter resides with our subject, being now in her seventy-third year. George W., Jr., came to Cambridge City, Wayne Co.., Ind., in 1862 and soon after, as a member of the firm of Jos. Lefeber & Co., engaged in the manufacture of sash, doors, ploughs and carriage materials, in which he continued till 1867. He purchased the drugstore of N. Raymond & Son in 1871, which he carried on till 1879 when he sold out and has since been engaged in dealing in grain. Mr. Shults is President of the Board of Town Trustees and is also Town Councilman, representing the Fourth Ward. He is a member of Lodge No.5, A. F. & A. M., of Cambridge City and Cambridge Commandery, No.6, and also belongs to the Agricultural Society, of which he is Secretary.
