They were married in Highland County, Ohio, and in 1820, came to Indiana and settled in Wayne County. They reared a family of eight children, three of whom are living. The mother died in 1834, and in 1837 Mr. Williams married Annie Cloud. She died and he then married again. In 1858 he moved to Hamilton County, Ind., where he died. Our subject resided with his parents till Dec. 10, 1833, when he married Nancy, daughter of Samuel and Martha (Meredith) Pitts, and settled on a tract of wild land in Hamilton County entered by his father. He resided there seventeen years and then bought a farm a mile west of Fountain City, where he lived thirty years. In 1880 he moved to Fountain City, where he now lives. Mr. and Mrs. Williams have had eleven children, ten of whom are living---Martha, Richard, Isaac, Franklin, Annie E., Elzena, Austin (deceased), Sarah, Samuel, Mary E. and Emma J. They are members of the Methodist church.
