CAMBRIDGE CITY.

A flourishing city in Wayne county, situated fifty-four miles from Indianapolis,
and seventy-four miles from Cincinnati. It is a city of considerable importance,
from the fact that it lies at the junction of four railroads—the two sections of
the Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central, the White Water Valley, and the
Cambridge City branch of the Jeffersonville, Madison & Indianapolis railroads.
There is a large railroad car manufactory owned by a company with a capital of
$100,000; also a number of other manufacturing concerns, a brewery, distillery,
etc. There are two fine hotels, a number of business houses, and the town is
well supplied with all mechanical branches, professional men, etc. The business
and population of Cambridge are constantly and rapidly increasing, and now it
contains about 3,000 inhabitants.
