CENTERVILLE.
The county seat of Wayne county, on the Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central
railroad, sixty-three miles from Indianapolis and six from Richmond. It contains
a population of about fifteen hundred, has good school and church facilities,
county buildings, stores, &c. The new county jail just erected cost $80,000, The
surrounding country is noted for its thrift and fertility.
