The Franklin Democrat, Friday, September 9, 1898, Volume XXXIX Number 9, page 1 column 2
Lee Freeman died Wednesday at his home in Dublin, of typhoid fever.  The remains
will be brought to 
Whiteland this morning and thence to the Hurricane Baptist church where funeral
services will be held at 10 
o’clock, conducted by Prof. C. H. Hall.  Deceased was 40 years old and a son-in-law
of S. W. Tilson.  He 
leaves a wife and three children.
