Robert Brattain's Will

Know all men by these presents that I Robert Brat 

tain of Wayne County State of Indiana being weak

in Body but sound in mind and memory do make

and ordain this my last Will and Testament in

manner and form following Viz- to my beloved

Wife Hannah I bequeath my Watch Spining

Wheel and chest and also every other article

that belonged to her at our marriage. It is my

Will that the ballance of my property after pay-

ing all my Just Debts and funeral expenses be

Appraised and that my wife Hannah afore

said by and with the advice of my hereafter

named executors be allowed to chose one fourth

part of the whole and the other three fourths

to be put into the hands of my sons John and 

Jonathan Brattain and Jane Clark my Daughter

to be equally divided amongst them and my

heirs. All of which I leave to the sound Judg-

ment of my hereafter named Executors -

I Constitute and Ordain my friends Jonathan 

Townsend and Daniel Clark Executors of this

my last will and testament declaring this

and no other to be my last Will & testament

Witness my hand and seal this 30th day of the

12th month in the year 1822.
