PERDUE, night foreman C. R. I.& P. R. R. came to Kansas in the fall of 1878 and located in Leavenworth, where he remained one year. From there he went to Trenton, Mo. where he lived for three years, when he came to Atchison, where he has since resided. Mr. Perdue is a member of Golden Cross Lodge, No. 38, Knight of Pythias, of Trenton, Mo. He is also a member of the Uniform Rank of the same lodge. He was born in Elmore, Ottawa Co., Ohio, December 25, 1857, and lived in his native place until his seventeenth year, when his parents removed to Fairfield, Lenawee Co., Mich., where he lived until his twenty-first year and then came to Kansas. Both of Mr. P.'s parents are still living in Fairfield, Mich. Additional Comments: Mahlin was son of Laban Perdue & Cornelia Ann Schaump. Mahlin returned to Michigan where he married 12 May 1887 in Fairfield, Lenawee Co., MI Ellen H. Ferguson. They were living in same according to 1900 census.
