Mrs. Smith worked for Sanders Mop Factory in Atchison for several years. Born 16 Jun 1930, in Muscotah, the daughter of Fred and Alma E. Bailey Gore. She lived in Effingham 32 years and moved to Muscotah in 1983. She was a 25-year member and past worthy matron of Muscotah Chapter 257, Order of the Eastern Star. She married Leo Storant 9 Sep 1950 in Hiawatha. He died 4 Jan 1982. She married Leslie Smith 17 Sep 1983 in Hiawatha. He died 29 Dec 1984. Survivors include: father and stepmother, Fred and Gladys Ritter Gore, Muscotah; sister, Maryellen Freeland, Valley Falls; five stepchildren; 13 step grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at Maple-Chanel-Blay Mortuary. Burial will be in Mustotah Cemetery.
