Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. MRS. RACHEL WEBB, Atchison, died last night at her home. Had been under care of her son, A. L. "Bud" Webb, Jr. of San Francisco, CA. She was 73 years old. Mrs. Rachel Childers Webb was born in Center County, MO 23 Nov 1855. Married the late William Gore of the Sugar Creek area and moved to Atchison. Son, the late Sam Gore, established the Gore cigar store in Atchison. A great grandson, Billy Ball, Atchison, survives. A son and daughter born to a second marriage, Frank and Hallie Webb, died years ago. A. L. Webb is the only surviving son of ten children born to Mrs. Webb. Mrs. A. J. Cash of Sugar Lake, MO, Mrs. Emma Van Hoosier of New Hampton, MO, sisters; and Robert Chiders of Stansbury, MO, a brother, also survive. Brother, L. M. Childers died recently in Atchison. Funeral Saturday from the First Christian church, the Rev. M. O. Kellison officiating. Burial in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
