     DEATHS
   This community was pained to learn the latter
part of last week of the death of Miss Carrie
Unruh, the sad event occurring in Kansas City
on Wednesday, November 27th, following an 
illness with diabetes from which she suffered
during the year prior to her death. While it
was known her condition was serious, yet the
hope which springs eternal in human breasts 
of loved ones, clung to the belief that the
treatment which she was taking for several
months would prove effective and that she 
soon would be well to enjoy life in the home 
where she was loved so dearly. But the human
plans suffer many disappointments, and she was
called to answer the final summons on the date
above mentioned.
   Miss Unruh was born Jan. 12, 1888, in
McPherson county, removing to Barton county when
she was four years old. Here she lived continuously
since that time until her death. One brother and
one sister preceded her to the other shore. A
father and mother, 3 brothers and 5 sisters, in
addition to a host of friends are left behind to
mourn her untimely departure.
  Funeral services were held at the residence on
Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by
Rev. Peter Dirks, after which interment was maded
in Pawnee Rock cemetery.

      CARD OF THANKS
   We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to
the kind friends and neighbors who assisted us
during the burial of our beloved daughter and
sister and also for the beautiful floral offerings.
      Mr. and Mrs. Barney Unruh 
       and children.
