STELLA GRIMSLEY (From Tuesday's Daily Tribune) Mrs. Stella Grimsley, 69, widow of Clarence Grimsley, 1630 East Oak, died yesterday afternoon at 2:45 at Mercy Hospital, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born April 18, 1889 in Benton County, Mo., and was married to Clarence Grimsley at Nevada, Aug. 5, 1905. He died August 22, 1945. There are several children surviving, most of whom live in the west. The body is at the Cheney Chapel, awaiting word from the children. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. GRIMSLEY RITES SUNDAY (From Friday's Daily Tribune) Funeral Services for Mrs. Stella Grimsley, 1630 East Oak, who died Monday at Mercy Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cheney Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Stella Thurston, daughter of William and Ellen (Dodd) Thurston, was born in Benton County, Mo., April 18, 1889. She was married to Clarence Grimsley, Aug. 5, 1905, at Nevada. She came to Fort Scott 32 years ago. Her husband died Aug. 22, 1935. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Violet Newell, Grandview, Wash.; Mrs. Thelma Harris, Mabton, Wash., and Mrs. Vivian Thomas, The Dalles, Ore.; four sons, Orval, Lester and Floyd, Mabton, Wash., and Fred Jr., Salinas, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Thomas, Nevada; Mrs. George Tabor, Kansas City, and Mrs. Sadie Vincent, Rich Hill, and two brothers, Robert Thurston, Nevada, and Ollie Thurston, Kansas City. There are 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One son and one brother are deceased.
