B 152 New York Infantry- Herkimer County, New York Mustered Out 13 July 1865 in Washington D. C. Captured 14th of August 1864 at Strawberry Plain, Virginia. Sent to Belle Island Prison, Richmond, Virginia. On September 9, 1864 Dougald was admitted to Belle Isle Hospital for Intermittent Fever. He was sent to Hospital 21 in Richmond, Virginia the same day. He was paroled or exchanged at Varina, Virginia on September 24, 1864 and was sent to Hospital Division 2. He was given furlough to CP Hospital on October 6, 1864. He was given a 20 day furlough on October 29, 1864 which he probably used to visit home. By becoming sick at the time he did he was not sent to Andersonville Prison in Georgia as were the healthy members of the 152nd were. Dugald was also present during the Appomattox campaign and at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865. Also present at the Surrender of Lee's Army. Dougald participated in the Grand Review in Washington D.C. on May 23, 1865. He was mustered out June 13, 1865 at Washington D.C.
