The Fairview Enterprise, Fairview, KS, November 11, 1920
Guy Johns was born in Watseka, Ill., Oct. 2, 1876 and died at Fairview, 
Kansas, Nov. 4, 1920.  His age was 44 years, 1 month and 2 days.  With the 
exception of the year 1891, in the state of Washington, he has spent his 
entire life in Brown county, Kansas.  He was the oldest of five children and 
has been preceeded in death by his father in 1893, one brother who died in 
infancy, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Steele, who passed away in 1916.  He is 
survived by his mother, Mrs. Nina Johns and sister, Miss Kitty Johns of 
Fairview and John Johns, a brother of Sabetha.  Since the death of his father 
he has cheerfully acted as the father of the family, including the twins of 
Mrs. Steele.  For a number of years he has worked at the painters trade and 
has performed his work faithfully and honestly.  As he was kind-hearted, 
patient and thoughtful for others, he is mourned by a host of friends.
