With her father's family she removed to Illinois where she was married to Henry Lyman June 23, 1857. After fourteen years in Illinois the family emigrated to Doniphan county, Kansas and settled at White Cloud. Two years later, 1873 they came to Brown county where they spent the remnant of their lives, he having passed into the great beyond two years ago. To them were born six sons and three daughters all of whom are living except one son. There are also twenty three grand children. She was converted when a young woman and joined the United Brethern church. After coming to Fairview she was received into the Reformed church in 1894. For twenty years her health was impaired. She grew worse and worse until the last few years were one continuous round of suffering. Few are called upon to suffer as she has, yet she bore it with a fortitude that is remarkable. She lived for her children; she suffered for them; she clung to hope that she might be a benefit to them though she knew it must be at the price of continued pain and anguish. She passed away peacefully Tuesday morning May 7, 1907, her age being seventy one years. She has fought her fight, finished her course, kept her faith. God be praised for her victory.
