Brown County World, Hiawatha, Kansas, September 20, 1907
Mrs. Rose Schmitt was born in Ireland Oct. 28, 1874 and died at her home in 
Padonia Sept. 15th from heart failure.  Funeral services were held at the 
Methodist Church in Padonia with the Rev. Mr. Harrell officiating.  Burial 
made in the Padonia Cemetery.  She married Adam Schmitt April 14, 1902.  He 
and three little girls survive; also four children by a former marriage, two 
boys and two girls; also nine brothers and sisters.
