Chase, in Hiawatha, at 1:15 Saturday afternoon, Feb. 10. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Tyler was a pioneer of Brown county, having seen it grow from a little struggling group to the prosperous community of today. Mrs. Tyler was the first teacher in Brown county, having taught Carson, Dist. No. 1, during the summer of 1860. Her Husband J. S. Tyler, died 5 years ago. Mrs. Tyler has been living on Tyler farm near Fairview, with her son, J. C. Tyler, who is only surviving member of her family. Funeral will be held Monday. A short service will be held at the L. E. Chase home, 122 North Seventh street, Hiawatha, at 1 o'clock. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 in the Baptist church at Fairview. Burial in Fairview cemetery.
