Tyler, died at Atchison, Kansas, Monday, July 2, 1906. The people here were greatly surprised when, on Tuesday, news reached this city that John Tyler was dead. J. S. Tyler, the father, received a dispatch that John had passed away at Atchison Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock. The remains were shipped to this city and the funeral was held on Thursday from the Baptist church. The remains were laid at rest in the family burying ground on the old home farm of the Tylers. John Tyler had many friends in this community. He was a young man of very exemplary habits. He was a worthy member of the Baptist church in this city. Johns many friends will be pained to learn of his sudden and untimely demise. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler, are among the best and most prominent citizens of Brown county, having been among the first to settle in the county. To these two worthy people, who are now advanced in years, the loss comes so unexpected, and their many neighbors and friends will sympathise with them in this their great bereavement.
