Nearly all the household goods were lost. It was insured. The house was a part of the old Valley House which was built in an early day when the Santa Fe first came into El Dorado. It was built at the same time as the depot. Hard luck and misfortune seems to follow Mr. Metheny. His friends who sympthize with hiim in his trouble should get together and give him some sustanital help. They would meet with no difficulty in finding people who will "loosen."
