Whist was the Pastime, Mrs. C. E. Thompson winning the Club prize, a hand painted cup and saucer, and Mrs. C. L. Aikman the guest prize, a rookwood vase. The score cards represented a slice of watermelon and for each progression a candy negro baby was attached. Ice cream representing watermelon, cake, marguerities and waffers were daintily served. Club members present were: Mesdames Guy Dunn, C. B. Wood, C. E. Thompson, G. H. Pattison, Ray Frazier, M. J. Long, J. B. Adams, H. G. Sandifer, Lee Scott, Robert Pallaferro. The guests were: Mesdames H. W. Schumacher, V. P. Mooney, B. F. Meeks, C. L. Aikman, W. H. Ellet Jr., M. L. Holaday, W. L. Hitchcock: Misses Cora Mooney, Mary Dunn.
