Their five children and their families were hosts. Appointments for the serving table, centered with a 4-tier decorated cake, were in gold and yellow. The cake was baked and decorated by Mrs. Ralph Daggett of Winfield. Children of the couple are four sons, Virgil and Harry of Udall, Alvah of Winfield, and Harold of Douglass, and a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Elizabeth) Smith of Udall. There are ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Bannon were married December 17, 1913 at Wichita and have farmed in the Rock community all of their married life. Relatives and friends attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bannon and sons, Harold Bannon, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Jim MacKay, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bannon; Mr. and Mrs. James MacKay and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bannon and family, all of Douglass, Lawrence Bannon, LaDonna Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd nave and sons and Yvonne Bannon, all of Udall; Mr. and Mrs. Carl MacKay, Mr. and Mrs. Nevelyn Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Charles MacKay and son, Mrs. Lucille Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Caryl Pickett and family, all of Rose Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bannon of Burden, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Groom and Mrs. Iva Bowman of Rock, Veryle Smith of Winfield and Mrs. Hazel Wamsley of Wichita. Sending gifts but unable to attend were the Eldon Bannons of Winfield, the Lyle Williams of Gypsum, Darwin Smith of Emporia, and LaGrand Lawsons of Dayton, Ohio.
